Die Bäckerei um die Ecke
The Bakery Around the Corner

There's a small bakery on our street. By six in the morning, the whole street already smells of fresh bread. The neighbors open their windows just to let the smell in.
Every morning, the same people stand in line in front of the bakery: an old man with his dog, a young family with two kids, a student with headphones. They don't know each other — but after a few minutes in line, they suddenly start talking to each other, about the weather, about the city, about nothing in particular.
The baker says his bread is nothing special. But the neighbors believe something else: in this little bakery, it's not just bread that gets made. Every morning, all over again, a small community comes into being too.
